Carmel Clare
BC’s dramatic landscape and shoreline is Carmel’s inspiration—it fuels her desire to paint. Her subjects include washed white riverbeds, dark forests, misty river banks, blustering storm clouds, and warm sunlight reflected on bleached driftwood. She started in watercolour, but now paints in acrylic, experimenting with texture and bold colour, and using her watercolour skills to create loose, underlying washes, layering paint with control and precision.
